The Minister for State Services, Hon Chris Hipkins and Minister for Women, Hon Julie Anne Genter launched the Gender Pay principles at Parliament on 2 July 2018.

“These five principles represent significant progress for women who’ve waited too long to be recognised fairly at work,” Women’s Minister Julie Anne Genter said.

The Ministers say, “these principles will guide all Government work on gender pay and are a significant step forward for the whole of the State Sector”… and will help to ensure the State Sector work environments are “free from gender based inequalities.”
