International Women’s Day on 8 March 2018 was celebrated proudly by women and their supporters globally with a huge array of events. Many GWN networks and their agencies embraced the opportunity to celebrate the day, their women, and women’s achievements. Congratulations and well done on your efforts! This helps to keep the awareness and conversations going about women’s achievements and the actions that we all need to continue to take to press for progress.

A breakfast was hosted at Parliament by Minister for Women, Hon Julie Anne Genter and organised by UN Women National Committee Aotearoa and Zonta Club of Wellington. Speeches were given by The Governor General Rt Hon Dame Patsy Reddy and Hon Julie Anne Genter and Dr Gill Greer conducted a conversation with Rt Hon Helen Clark.
