Behind the Mask: Vulnerability within Leadership

Mā mua ka kite a muri, mā muri ka ora a mua Those who lead give sight to those who follow, those who follow give life to those who lead.

The aim of the day was to provide professional development and networking opportunities for Women working in the Public Sector.  The summit included a total of 16 speakers made up of four Keynote presentations, a Panel Discussion and eight breakout sessions.

The Southern GWN committee knew it was important to have the summit in person post COVID so people could be present and network but as we cover the whole South Island it was just as important to involve as many of our members as possible which is why this summit was available online as well as in-person.

The atmosphere throughout the day and in every room was positive and uplifting and everyone was smiling which was lovely to see.  MC, Petra Bagust was amazing, and her modelling of Te Reo was inspiring.

The beautifully diverse range of speakers was fantastic, and it was great how many of them commented on the calibre of their fellow presenters!  The speakers brought their own incredible experience and backgrounds to share with us, with some very powerful messages.

Feedback

Such an incredibly inspirational day with a rich tapestry of kōrero shared!

It was great to attend the event and network in person. It's nice to put a name to a face, especially after having previous events online.

I ran into four senior colleagues who had been to the Summit. This was their first and they absolutely loved the day. they thought it was awesome and made such amazing connections. And they loved the venue!
