GWN welcomes new incoming Director and Steering Committee members
GWN is pleased to announce that our new Programme Director, Carin Sundstedt, will begin her role on 28 September.
Carin joins the GWN team after finishing her roles as Programme Manager and Manager Culture and Customer at MPI, where she focused on building a high performing culture, customer-centric design and lately regional economic development. Carin has previously worked as a Team Leader at Oranga Tamariki/MSD and as Manager of Service Delivery at the Ministry of Education. Carin is experienced in working with diverse groups of people and has over 14 years experience in the New Zealand Public Service. She completed a Master’s degree in Public Management at the School of Government (Victoria University of Wellington Te Herenga Waka) with a focus on women and leadership and has always valued working in areas that are about creating accessibility and inclusion for all.
Carin takes over from Acting Director, Rebecca Schasching, who, in her short 6 month term, has made a huge difference for GWN, steering the network through Covid, increasing GWN's ability to deliver remotely, and driving GWN forward to be more sustainable. Rebecca returns to her substantive role at Te Ara Poutama Corrections and looks forward to resuming her participation with the National Office Women's Network.
GWN is also pleased to welcome four new Steering Committee members: Natalia Albert (Stats NZ), Kimberley Kilgour (Te Puni Kokiri), Nicola Johns (NZ Police) and Deborah James (Office of the Auditor General).
We will be sharing detailed profiles of our new Committee members in upcoming GWN newsletters. Be sure and sign up to read more about these wāhine toa in the coming months.
We welcome the contributions of our new GWN staff and champions and we look forward to working with you!
