Grants available to attend 2021 Auckland Women in Public Service Summit
We welcome your application to attend the Auckland Women in Public Service Summit on 17 June, 2021.
Grants will cover the WIPS registration fee for in-person attendance only, as well as accommodation and travel where applicable.
Our focus is on supporting people who would normally not be able to attend an event like this one.
Diverse members of the public sector are strongly encouraged to apply. Selection criteria are:
- Applicant has not previously attended WIPS (including Wellington 2021 and Virtual Summit 2020)
- Applicant has been working in public sector five years or less
- Attending WIPS can be included as part of your career development plan
- Applicant has a plan to share what they learn with others

Your short application will outline how attending the Summit will contribute to your career development, as well as benefit your team or network.
Deadline to submit your grant application is COB 18 May 2021.
Your grant application will be assessed the following week and you should have a final decision by 26 May 2021.
After your experience we will ask you to share some of your insights and how you’ll apply those at work. We will use these stories for our newsletter and other channels.
You will need agreement from your manager before applying for this grant. We also recommend marking a placeholder in your calendar for 17 June in the event you are one of the five successful applicants.

Application FAQs
1. Why do I need my manager’s approval when everything is paid for?
To make sure your manager can make plans to cover your work when you are away, and to make sure the benefits of attending the Summit are included in your overall development plan.
2. Is the grant restricted to women?
No, the grant is open to anyone who believes they meet the selection criteria.
3. Can I apply even though I am not based in Auckland?
Yes, the grant is open to anyone who believes they meet the selection criteria.
4. What is the process once I submit my EOI?
There will be a shortlisting process to identify those candidates whose EOI response best meets the candidate requirements, followed by a face-to-face or virtual meeting.
5. Why is diverse representation important for this grant?
